Art is Really Very Personal

I like my own inspiration that comes from within. A photographer sees something which produces a strange feeling from within. He takes his photos and produces his own piece of art.

When I produce art, I am my own camera. I produce every painting from what I've seen or see, and what I know and feel. I have achieved this myself without help from cameras or any electronic method that many artists use. Some have to be more visual and are lost if they are forced to paint from mind and soul. I identify with Claude Monet, a very classic impressionist, who studied the light that forms the subject and gives the impressions a lot more feeling. So many realists lack these qualities, I admire. To be perfect is not what draws my attention.

It's getting to the point that people (generally) don't like art done from the imagination. They don't think it's good enough, which is so sad for the future. Imagination is exciting and needs to be appreciated for it's honesty. So many artists want to do their art with electronics, tracing paper or anything that's easy for them to copy. People who do things from their soul are really the authentic artists. This is what I have respect for. If this isn't good enough, Where will all of our artwork end up?

It took me many, many years to learn the techniques of all of the mediums. I feel I have mastered my style in each medium, although oil and the pallet knife are my favorite style.

I am so fascinated with all art, which is why I was able to conquer what most cannot do - painting from mind and soul only - without a visual subject.

If I die painting, I'll be a happy person. I enjoy being an impressionistic artist the best. Yet, I am able to produce realistic art the same as other artists. I have had to pick my one style to sell because I won't live long enough to be known otherwise.
